Job / Volunteer Outline Description |
The Rape and Sexual Abuse Support Centre (RASASC) in Croydon are currently looking for passionate women dedicated to working towards the end of sexual violence to volunteer on our national helpline supporting survivors, their friends, families and partners as well as volunteers for our Advocacy service, supporting female survivors going through Croydon Crown Court. Successful applicants will gain a place on our 15 week training course in supporting female and male survivors of sexual violence. This course is accredited by the London Open College Network to the equivalent of an A-level and is offered free in exchange for a minimum volunteering commitment of one year. Previous professional experience is not required however empathy for survivors and a basic understanding of some of the issues raised by sexual violence is vital.
