Launch of Recommendations on DV Trainings from a BME Perspective
* Friday 24 April 2009 from 1.30pm – 5.30pm
* Conference Hall, The Resource Centre, 356 Holloway Road, London N7 6PA

This half day national Conference aims to present the ‘Recommendations on DV Trainings’ and to initiate a discussion on:
* How do the general public and mainstream service providers perceive forms of DV experienced by BME women?
* How can we bring a change in these perceptions through the trainings?
* How best can the statutory authorities deal with BME survivors of DV?

This conference also aims to urge the authorities to deal with specific forms of DV in a gendered perspective and violence against women framework taking into account the diversity of experiences.

Speakers:

* Sumanta Roy – Interim Director, Imkaan

The event will be followed by a reception and refreshments.
