LAWA, a Women’s Refuge and Advice Centre, offers practical and emotional support, and temporary accommodation, to Latin American women and their children fleeing domestic violence within an empowering framework. We are looking for:

P/T CAPACITY BULDING WORKER 21 hours p/w
Salary: NJC Scale 29 – £ 16,601 including Inner London Weighting. (This is pro rata to £27,669 per annum)

To enable small BAMER groups to establish and/or further develop an advice and information service to support women survivors of domestic violence within their own community. As well as to carry a small case-work load to provide one to one advice to Latin American women. You will have experience of working with vulnerable women, advocacy work and understanding of domestic violence issues. Fluency in English & Spanish essential, Portuguese would be desirable.

P/T DOMESTIC VIOLENCE FLOATING SUPPORT WORKER 17.5 hours p/w
Salary: NJC Scp 29 – £13,834 including Inner London Weighting.(This is pro rata to £27,669 per annum)

We are looking for an experienced and committed staff member to advice and support Latin American women affected by domestic violence. You will have experience of working with vulnerable women, advocacy work and understanding of domestic violence issues. This post is currently funded until March 2010. Fluency in English & Spanish essential, Portuguese would be desirable.
