Education For Choice (EFC) is a pro-choice organisation whose mission is to enable young people to make and act on informed choices about pregnancy and abortion. It works with young people, professionals, policy makers and media to raise awareness of young people’s needs and to promote best practice in education, social care, youthwork and healthcare settings.

EFC is a small, dynamic and creative organisation that values everyone’s ideas and contributions. The staff works closely together across all project areas and wherever possible we strive to create opportunities to increase staff members’ knowledge and understanding of abortion law and practice in this country. We welcome everyone’s input into developing and improving our work.

EFC is seeking a part-time Admin Officer to work one day a week, on a fixed term contract for a year (with the possibility of extension, subject to the availability of funding). The post would suite a candidate with a passion for sexual and reproductive health and rights and a desire to learn more about current policy and practice as it relates to young people, and who seeks valuable experience of working in a small voluntary sector organisation.

The postholder will be responsible for maintaining financial systems and records, assisting with core activities such as fundraising, and supporting the work of three staff by helping with administration across all areas of project work – professional training, schools work, advocacy and resource development.

Person Specification The postholder must:
* Have an interest in and commitment to EFC’s aims and objectives
* Be highly literate and highly numerate
* Be competent and confident with Microsoft Word and Excel
* Have excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
* Possess effective internet research skills
* Be highly organised, methodical, flexible, able to manage their own time effectively, and be keen to work as part of a small team.
* Previous experience of book keeping or other finance work is desirable but not essential.
