FREE WORKSHOPS on Prostitution & Trafficking in May
WHAT?
Eaves POPPY Project is running a series of free workshops for borough-level statutory agencies and voluntary service providers with a focus on prostitution and/or trafficking. The aim is to equip staff with the basic knowledge to assist individuals who want to leave prostitution – including victims of trafficking – through facilitating access to appropriate services.
The interactive sessions will last for three hours, comprised of four sections:
* Introduction to Prostitution & Trafficking
* The Local Situation
* Case Studies – Brent / Lambeth / Ipswich (guest speakers)
* How to Improve Your Borough’s Response
WHEN?

WHO?
The workshops are open to anyone who is employed by, or affiliated to, a London borough in a position relevant to prostitution and/or trafficking. The sessions may be particularly useful for staff working in the following areas:
* Health & Social Care (PCTs, sexual violence, mental health, protection of vulnerable adults, alcohol & drugs advisory services, domestic violence);
* Community Safety, Community Planning, Children’s Services;
* Crime, Housing; Jobs & Careers;
* Social Enterprise;
* Sustainable Development;
* Community Empowerment & Regeneration, Environment & Planning; Parks & Open Spaces;
* Strategic Planning;
* Neighbourhood Services;
* Licensing;
* Equalities & Discrimination.
HOW MUCH?
* There is no charge to attend the workshops.
* Travel expenses should be covered by participating organisations.
ANYTHING ELSE?
* Booking is essential.
* Refreshments will be provided.
* Participants will receive a range of resource materials.
