A consultation event for London’s women – GLDVP for GLADA – 9th July 2009

A chance to network with other women, Comment on three important strategies directly affecting women

Take part in a dynamic workshop for women in communication
3.30pm – 7pm, Thursday 9 July 2009, City Hall

GLADA Women’s Voices would like to invite you to the above event at City Hall in order to help improve the options for London’s women.

In bite size pieces in an interactive setting, hear and respond to three new Mayoral strategies: the Violence Against Women strategy, the Housing Strategy and the Health Inequalities Strategy[* see below].

It is a chance to meet with likeminded women, have an informal networking lunch and respond to three of London’s most important upcoming strategies to affect women. GLADA Women’s Voices will also provide a workshop designed for women around an area of communication (eg: presenting for debate/conference; communication strategies, effective debate, assertiveness, media training, writing techniques etc – to be finalised closer to the date)

GLADA Women’s Voices is a group for women in London affected by alcohol and drugs. Set up by Greater London Authority (GLA), Black Poppy, the Stella Project and the London Drug & Alcohol Network (LDAN), GLADA Women’s Voices is:

An engine room that gathers and promotes women’s views and experiences through the creative arts.
A forum to explore, discuss and respond to new policies, strategies and developments.

This event is to support the inclusion of women’s networks in London, to respond to and shape strategies and policies that affect them. Service users and providers are very welcome. The event will focus on experiences relating to alcohol and drug issues but will also give voice to the wider experiences of women in London. A programme will be circulated nearer to the time.

Places for this event are limited.
