Run the Half Marathon for Refuge on 27th September – NB register by 31st July 2009
There is still the opportunity of running for Refuge in the Run to the Beat half marathon on Sunday 27th September …
Refuge has some places available in this fantastic half marathon, but unfortunately the entry system closes this Friday 31 July and we must have all of our runners registered by then! We would love to be able to offer you one of our few remaining places!
If you have any questions about the event, please contact Harriet on harriet_gray@refuge.org.uk or 020 7395 7713.
If you would like to join our team, please download and fill in our form and return it to harriet_gray@refuge.org.uk as soon as possible.
The Run to the Beat half marathon takes place in London on Sunday 27th September. The leafy Greenwich route is lined with musical entertainment for runners, including over 30 live bands. What’s more, the tracks are scientifically selected to help you stay motivated at different stages of the course.
Public places for this event are now sold out, but Refuge does have a number of guaranteed places available. We do not ask for a registration fee, but because we pay for the places and because we have to ensure that we raise enough funds for our vital services, we ask all runners on a Refuge place to pledge to raise a minimum of £400 per place.
Please be assured that we would support you all the way to reach this target, and that if you approach your fundraising as methodologically as you do your training, you should find it very possible to reach (and smash!) this target.
As a Refuge runner, you will receive our full package of support including a half marathon training plan, a pack containing training, nutrition and fundraising advice, a free Refuge t shirt or professional running vest, and one to one support from our dedicated team.
Domestic violence is a serious crime that takes lives and ruins lives. One woman in four will experience domestic violence at some point in her lifetime so it is likely we all know someone who has been, or will be, affected – it’s just we don’t always know it.
For nearly 40 years Refuge has been supporting women and children fleeing violence and terror. By running for Refuge, you’ll help us to change lives and to save lives.
So please, join our team today! Contact Harriet on 020 7395 7713 or harriet_gray@refuge.org.uk to bag your place, and remember that time is running out to register!
