Greenwich Women’s Aid has 2 vacancies:
Full Time – South Asian Children’s Worker & General Children’s Worker
Salary: NJC Scale Point 26-28 (£20,001 – £23,473 p.a)
We are looking for an experienced and flexible south Asian Children’s worker and a general children’s worker to provide individual and group support including organised play sessions to children (0-16) living in refuges and other forms of temporary accommodation across Greenwich. All of the families we work with have experienced trauma and loss due to domestic violence and have been forced to leave their homes. You will have a good understanding of working with families within a multi racial setting, with particular relevance to Asian women and children. Have excellent organisational and communication skills, as well as an understanding of the Every Child matters agenda, qualified to NVQ Level 3 or equivalent.

The post is advertised under Section 5 ii (d) of the Race Relations Act and Section 7 ii (e) of the Sex Discrimination Act. It is a genuine occupational qualification that the post holder is Asian.
This post has a requirement to speak one or more of the five main Asian languages.

Full Time – Floating Support Worker
Salary: NJC Scale SO1 Point 29-31 (£23749 – £26,016 p.a)
We are looking for an experienced and flexible floating support worker to provide housing related support to women fleeing or subjected to domestic violence. You will have a good understanding of working with women within a multi racial setting and have a understanding of domestic violence issues. You will have excellent organisational and communication skills, and a thorough knowledge of service user led support and risk planning. Able to work within a team and on your own imitative, with good IT skills.
