Refuge is a national charity, which provides a lifeline for women and children escaping domestic violence. We have the following opportunities for committed female* applicants.

Floating Support Worker

C. £13,000 pa inc. ILW
Location: Hounslow/Richmond
Part-time: 17 1/2 hours per week
Fixed term until 30th September 2010 (with possibility of extension)

In this front-line role you will assist women to move to a life free from abuse using individual support plans as tools to develop a strategy for each woman.

You will have experience of supporting women in a community or social work setting, an understanding of domestic violence issues and a good knowledge of current welfare rights and domestic violence legislation. You should also have excellent case management skills, experience of liaising with external agencies and good written and verbal communication skills. This post involves travel throughout the boroughs specified.

Refuge Worker

C. £26,000 pa inc. ILW
Location: Hounslow

You must have experience of providing support to women, and knowledge of current housing/welfare rights and legal/criminal legislation relating to domestic violence. A recognised social work/counselling/housing qualification would be desirable. You will also have excellent casework skills, good written and verbal communication skills, clear professional boundaries and the ability to give emotional and practical support to women who have experienced domestic violence.

Please note: you will be required to work as part of an on-call rota.
