Based In Hackney, London

Education For Choice is seeking a passionate, creative and experienced trainer and project coordinator who is committed to supporting young people’s sexual health and reproductive rights.

JOB SUMMARY

Location: Hackney, London

Purpose: Enabling professionals to support the young people they work with to make informed decisions about pregnancy and abortion

Key responsibilities:
Co-ordinating and delivering a new London-wide training and support programme for professionals working with young people in and leaving care
Delivering multi-agency training nationwide
Contributing to other Education For Choice projects as required

PERSON SPECIFICATION

Essential – Candidates should meet all of the following criteria:
1. Have a commitment to the aims and objectives of Education For Choice.
2. Be an experienced trainer/facilitator.
3. Have an understanding of sexual health and reproductive rights issues for young people.
4. Have experience of successful project coordination or management
5. Have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
6. Have the ability to process complex information and present it in an accessible way.
7. Have imagination, creativity and problem solving skills.
8. Be organised, capable of working independently and managing own time effectively.
9. Be able to work effectively within a team.
10. Have good IT skills – including Microsoft Office; Word, Excel and Power Point.
11. Be adaptable and flexible.

Desirable:
1. Have experience of training professionals about sexual health
2. Have experience of facilitating sexual health workshops for young people
3. Have experience of writing materials for a range of audiences
4. Have experience of writing fundraising applications
5. Have experience of working with a range of professionals in varied settings
6. Have knowledge and understanding of current government policy relating to sexual health, sex and relationships education and teenage pregnancy
7. Be educated to degree level or equivalent
8. Have experience of working for a small NGO
