Greenwich Women’s Aid has the following 2 vacancies:
Children’s Worker (F/T)
We are looking for an experienced and flexible Children’s Worker to provide individual and group support including organised play sessions to children (0-16) living in refuges and other forms of temporary accommodation across Greenwich. All of the families we work with have experienced trauma and loss due to domestic violence and have been forced to leave their homes. You will have a good understanding of working with families within a multi-racial setting. Have excellent organisational and communication skills, as well as an understanding of the Every Child Matters agenda, qualified to NVQ Level 3 or equivalent.
Salary: NJC Scale Point 26-28 (£20,001-£23,473)

South Asian Children’s Worker (F/T)
We are looking for an experienced and flexible South Asian Children’s worker to provide individual and group support including organised play sessions to children (0-16) living in refuges and other forms of temporary accommodation across Greenwich. All of the families we work with have experienced trauma and loss due to domestic violence and have been forced to leave their homes. You will have a good understanding of working with families within a multi-racial setting, with particular relevance to Asian women and children. Have excellent organisational and communication skills, as well as an understanding of the Every Child Matters agenda, qualified to NVQ Level 3 or equivalent.
The post is advertised under Section 5ii(d) of the Race Relations Act and Section 7ii(e) of the Sex Discrimination Act. It is a genuine occupational qualification that the post holder is Asian. This post has a requirement to speak one or more of the five main Asian languages.
