Female Senior Support Worker (Trafficked Women) – 5th October 2009

Eaves is a London based charity working to support women through the provision of a range of complementary direct and second tier services. We are looking to recruit an experienced female Senior Support Worker to join our POPPY Project – a Ministry of Justice funded project that is making a difference to the lives of women who have been trafficked into the UK for sexual exploitation.

Female Senior Support Worker (Trafficked Women)
Salary £28,485 to £32,211
Based in London
35 hours per week

The successful candidate will be responsible for:
• assisting service users to exit prostitution and trafficking situations in a safe and positive way
• acting as a specialist advocate through liaison with a range of statutory and non-statutory agencies, including the police and UK Border Agency, with a focus on promoting Service Users’ rights and empowerment
• Providing a high quality support and accommodation service to women who have been trafficked

To achieve in this role, the candidate must have:
• Substantial experience of providing support to vulnerable women including casework experience with women who have experienced violence
• An understanding of trafficking and how it affects women
• An understanding of the causes and realities of prostitution and trafficking and a commitment to developing effective responses
