the nia project provides a wide range of services for women and children who have experienced domestic violence and other forms of gender violence
Young People’s Worker (Sexual Violence)*
£25,301 – £27,724 p.a. London
You will deliver preventative work on sexual violence/bullying to young people in secondary schools and youth groups across Hackney, Haringey and Islington. You’ll also provide information, guidance and training to parents/carers and professionals, to ensure that they can identify and respond appropriately to sexual violence/bullying. You must be dynamic, creative, and with strong experience of working with vulnerable people and working in partnership to achieve good practice.
Independent Domestic Violence Advocates*
1 x LB Hackney – 28hpw
£25,301 – £27,724 p.a. pro rata
You must have strong risk assessment experience, as well as a track record of providing advice and support relating to gender violence, welfare, housing and legal issues. You must be confident advocating for clients in a multi-agency setting, and you should have excellent communication skills, as well as the ability and experience to work with women from BAMER communities.
The IDVA service for LB Hackney has a particular emphasis on providing advocacy, support and risk assessment to women from BAMER communities. In this post, you will be working with women from Black African communities and developing relevant partnerships. Fluency in a community language would be an advantage.

Support Worker*
£25,301 – £27,724 p.a. London
You will provide support, advice/information and advocacy services to women living in our refuges. This will include the day-to-day management of the refuge and providing support services to women using our services by carrying out key work sessions, needs assessments, developing care plans with clients and carrying out case work in relation to welfare benefits, housing and similar issues. You will also provide support to women to enable them to move out of the refuge and settle in their new homes, as well as carrying out preventive work around gender violence.
With a strong track record in supported housing/refuge settings, you should also have a knowledge of the issues faced by women who have experienced gender violence, as well as strong casework experience.
Play Worker*
£25,301 – £27,724 p.a. London
We are undertaking a pan-London Family Learning Project working with mothers/carers and their children (0-16 yrs) from BAMER communities who have been affected by domestic violence. Family learning opportunities will be offered to enable mothers/carers and their children to learn together, developing new skills such as cookery, crafts and IT, whilst also developing parenting skills.
You will work with the Family Learning Team across London to support mothers and their children whilst they participate in activities. You must have strong experience of working in a childcare setting.
