Single Parent Action Network is very pleased to host a major event on 19th November in Westminster:
No Going Back: Empowering Single Parents Out of Poverty
The conference will highlight present and future strategies at a national and local level to reduce one parent poverty, combat discrimination, and support single parents in their demanding role. Participants will consider how we can work together in the midst of a recession to prevent a return to the deeply embedded poverty and stigmatisation of the past.
The conference will be opened by leading politicians and civil servants with a brief on child poverty. They will speak on present and proposed initiatives for ending child poverty in one parent families followed by questions. You will be able to participate in roundtables discussing a variety of topics:
Each roundtable will include single parents, civil servants, public and voluntary sector representatives, funding bodies and researchers. The workshops will be facilitated by key contributors marked here with including:
