Solace Women’s Aid has the following vacancies:
Independent Domestic Violence Advocate (IDVA) (maternity cover 1yr)
Contract Type: Temporary (maternity cover one year)
Hours: 35 hours per week
Salary: NJC scale point 28-30 (£27,009 – £28,770)
We are looking for an Independent Domestic Violence Advocate to join our highly experienced team working with women at high risk from domestic violence. You will work as part of the IDVA Service to provide a pro-active, effective and efficient service within a multi agency setting to female survivors of domestic violence. This will include undertaking risk assessments, providing advice, information and support focusing on improved safety and reducing risk in co-ordination with other agencies. Preference will be given to CAADA trained applicants.
Senior Young People’s Worker and Young People’s Worker
Solace Women’s Aid has been funded by the Big Lottery to provide an innovative and exciting project for young people affected by Domestic Violence. This involves providing individual support to young people as well as developmental work in setting up a young people’s forum to plan group activities and develop projects
We are looking for two female young people’s workers – one a senior worker, to set up and develop this new and exciting project.
You will be part of the Family and Children’s service team at SWA providing support to young people aged 10-21, in our refuges and in the community. You should have youth work experience as well as experience of working with vulnerable young people including those affected by Domestic Violence.
Our work is outcome based and does require the collection of data and reporting to funders.
Salary: Senior Young People Worker NJC Scale point 30-32 (£28,770 – £30,345) inclusive ILW. Plus 3% matched contribution to in house pension scheme.
Young people worker NJC Scale point 26-30 (£25,515 – £28,770) inclusive ILW. Plus 3% matched contribution to in house pension scheme
Hours: 35 hours per week
Qualification Level: A minimum of one years experience (two years for senior post) of working with this or a similar client group is required. Youth work qualification or equivalent essential.
Deputy Refuge Services Manager 21hrs p/w
Hours: Part Time
Salary: NJC Scale point 32-35 (£30,345 – £32,532 pro rata)
You will lead two small teams in our Islington refuges which provide emergency refuge accommodation for 21 women and their children. You will be part of the management team reporting to the Refuge Services Manager for Camden and Islington.
You should have experience of working in supported housing; preferably with women and children who have been forced to leave their homes due to domestic violence. You should have experience of the QAF and worked in Supporting People services. You should also have a minimum of one year’s staff management experience.
Refuge Workers Full Time and Part Time
Hours: Full Time
Salary: Islington Post: NJC Scale point 26-30 (£25,515 – £28,770) inclusive ILW.
Islington Post: NJC Scale point 26-30 (£25,515 – £28,770 pro rata) 21 hrs p/w inclusive ILW.
Enfield Post: NJC Scale point 26-30 (£23,970 – £27,225) inclusive OLW
We are looking for dedicated Refuge Workers with a minimum of one year’s relevant experience to join our Islington and Enfield Teams. You will join a committed and lively team working to ensure the smooth running of the refuge.
You will provide individual support to women through our key working system and also work with groups of women in the refuge.
Preference will be given to BME applicants who are under represented in these services.
Hours: 35 and 21 hrs
