Thanks to the generosity of the Big Lottery Fund we are now recruiting for an exciting and innovative project to support Young Muslim Women

The Young Muslim Women’s Project aims to…

empower and benefit Young Muslim Women by developing and enhancing their skills around 3 key themes: “Skills for Life”, “Be Safe”, & “Be Healthy”. It aims to improve their vocational/ employability skills in areas such as, health, safety, counselling, ICT and the creative arts industry, and tackle issues around crime, anti-social behaviour and discrimination.

We are looking for highly motivated women with a track record of achievement to join our organisation and to help us make a real difference to the lives young Muslim women.

Outreach and Development Worker

* £25,928 pa (inclusive of ILW)

To develop outreach work, recruit and train young Muslim women as professionals or volunteers. You will plan and deliver programmes related to Be healthy, Stay Safe, Skills for adulthood, volunteering, tackling anti-social behaviour, and support disadvantaged young women to achieve their full potential. You will possess effective partnership and networking skills. You will develop opportunities to improve the participation and public perception of young women and act as their advocate.

Interview: week commencing 14th December 2009.

This post is 3 year fixed term contracts (subject to funding)

Successful applicants will be required to undergo a CRB check for which the employer will meet costs.

Project Co-ordinator

* £27,444 pa ( inclusive of ILW) (Pro Rata 30 hrs)

To co-ordinate and manage a small team. You will have a demonstrable ability to manage complex projects, think strategically, develop effective partnerships and generate creative solutions. You will have excellent communication, evaluation and monitoring skills and the ability to develop the project and influence thinking at a senior level.

Youth Worker

* £25,928 pa (inclusive of ILW)

You will have the skills and drive to promote the educational and social development of young Muslim women. You will develop programmes to engage young Muslim women professionals, redress inequalities, value opinions, and empower individuals to take action on issues affecting their lives, including health, education, unemployment and the environment, by developing positive skills and attitudes. You will possess effective partnership and networking skills.

Finance and Admin Officer

* £25,928 pa (inclusive of ILW) (Pro Rata 17.50 hrs)

You will be responsible for the day to day financial and administrative work for the project. You will possess experience in the preparation/revision of budgets applicable to staff and recurring expenditures and maintain necessary budgetary control records and to deal with day to day administrative tasks of the project.
