Refuge is a national charity, which provides a lifeline for women and children escaping domestic violence.

We have the following opportunities for committed female* applicants:

National Peripatetic Domestic Violence Workers
C. £27,000 pa inc ILW

This is an exciting opportunity for experienced Support Workers, delivering a high quality professional service to abused women living in our refuges and those who access our floating support services. Required to work from any of the above services and at any of our national sites according to the needs of the service, your role will be to support colleagues by filling gaps created in the service through absence and annual leave.

Your role will entail providing invaluable practical and emotional support to women and their children, such as advocacy, support around welfare, housing and legal entitlements, and supporting women to move on to safe and permanent accommodation.

You will have excellent casework skills, good written and verbal communication skills, clear professional boundaries and be a proactive team player. You must have experience of providing support to women and knowledge of current welfare rights/civil/criminal legislation relating to domestic violence. A recognised Social Work/Counselling or Housing qualification would be desirable.

A driver’s licence and access to a vehicle during work hours is desirable and you will be required to work as part of an on-call rota.

You must have a commitment to the values of empowerment, support and equality, which underpin all the work undertaken by Refuge.
