Outline Description

The JWA refuge is staffed by two workers, has space for 8 women and their children, and is the only kosher refuge in Europe. You will be based in the refuge and be responsible for risk and needs assessment, key work and the provision of emotional and practical support for women and children affected by domestic abuse, including assisting them with benefits, immigration and legal advice.
You’ll be enthusiastic, empathetic and creative, and able to work with people under stress. You will already have experience of working with vulnerable groups, ideally in supported accommodation. Knowledge and understanding of domestic violence and the Jewish community is also essential.
