Acting Advocacy and Training Manager – the nia project – 22nd December 2009

the nia project provides a wide range of services for women and children who have experienced domestic violence and other forms of gender violence.

The organisation is now recruiting for the following temporary post within the Advocacy & Training Team

1 x Acting Advocacy & Training Manager
Full Time (35 hrs/week)
6 week fixed term contact – NJC Scale 34 -£30,773

An acting manager is required to ensure the effective and efficient operation and management of Advocacy & Training Service for a period of 6 weeks between 11 January and 15 March 2010. This is to provide managerial cover whilst the current postholder is on sabbatical.

The Advocacy and Training manager will be responsible for the management, development and maintenance of the Advocacy and Training services, including the management and supervision of staff in conjunction with the nia project’s policies and procedures. A sound knowledge of domestic violence and violence against women is essential as is the ability to communicate effectively at various levels.

The post also require that candidates should have experience of managing a team within a violence against women organisation as well as experience of casework, risk assessments, monitoring and/or of preparing and delivering training on a wide range of gender violence issues.
