London Metropolitan University is one of the foremost providers of undergraduate, postgraduate, professional and vocational education and training in Britain. Our courses are planned in consultation with employers and examining bodies in commerce, industry, the world of art and design, the financial services industries and the professions. The end result is courses that are of direct relevance to their field and of a high quality. The Women’s Library holds the most extensive collection of material relating to women’s history in the UK. It is housed in a purpose built building that hosts major exhibitions, events and full access to its collections. The Women’s Library is at the heart of the Special Collections at London Metropolitan University.
We are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic learning officer who can lead and develop the Women’s Library exhibitions and curriculum related schools and further education programmes. You will also lead on community and participatory projects at the Library and will be part of project teams, advising on content and interpretation ensuring that the Library’s approach is audience focused.
You will have substantial experience of developing education and interpretation programmes in a museum or arts environment and have an understanding of working with a range of community partners. This post will be part-time (working 21 hours per week) for a fixed-term period of 6 months.
