Women in Prison – Supporting and campaigning for women offenders and ex-offenders

Women in Prison Ltd is a unique, national charity. We currently have vacancies in both the North and South of England.

Surrey Project Worker x 2 posts (based in Woking)
£21,786 – £23,361 pa (35 hours per week)
1 year contract

These roles will involve assertive outreach and one-to-one support to women in contact with the criminal justice system – in prison, at court, at police custody suites and upon release into the community across Surrey. Responsive to the individual needs of women, you will develop support plans that address their mental health, housing, domestic violence, substance misuse, financial and other identified needs. You will develop and facilitate group support and skills building programmes that will enable women to build self-esteem and learn new life skills. With extensive experience of supporting vulnerable women with a range of complex needs, you will also have experience of undertaking detailed needs/risk assessments and an NVQ3 in social care (or equivalent).

Northern Service Mental Health Inclusion Worker (based in York)
£23,562-£24,480 pa (35 hours per week) + essential car user allowance.
Initial 1 year contract (3yr subject to funding)

Your role will involve providing advocacy, support, and advice services to women prisoners, ex-prisoners or women at risk of offending who have a diagnosed mental health support need or a history of traumatic life experience. With extensive experience of working within the mental health sector, and knowledge of relevant mental health policy and legislation and its impact on women within the criminal justice system you will develop individual and group based interventions with women in custody and in the community.

You will develop and deliver specialist training and advice to other organisations.
