Free Conference: Parenting And Domestic Violence – nia project – 12th April 2010

Free Conference: Parenting And Domestic Violence

Monday 12 April 2010, 9.30am – 4pm
City Edge, 125 – 127 Mare Street, London E8 3RH

The Jacana Parenting Service is an exciting new partnership being piloted in Hackney by the nia project, a leading organisation in the Violence Against Women field, and the Domestic Violence Intervention Project (DVIP).

The pilot will deliver an innovative, new parenting programme for families in Hackney who have been, or currently are, affected by domestic violence. This includes a programme for mothers who are survivors/victims as well as a programme for fathers who are perpetrators. The service seeks to reduce the impact of domestic violence on parenting capacity and on children.

The conference is a great opportunity to learn more about current research and practice developments in domestic violence and parenting. It will enable delegates to explore good practice and current approaches in the field.
