Women voters want more than political charm offensives! – Fawcett
We wanted to draw your attention to a new, Fawcett led campaign What About Women? which brings together a coalition of over 40 UK women’s, equality, democracy and human rights organisations. In the run up to the general election we are asking all parties to answer some key questions on how their policies in different areas will impact on women and women’s equality.
We want both women and men voters get a chance to hear and consider how the different parties will consider and address women’s equality if elected to government and are asking all parties to respond to a set of questions set out on What about Women Campaign website. We will be posting the responses on our website and asking supporters of Fawcett, other What About Women? campaign partners and the general public to feedback!
We are sure that you would agree that we are still far from our shared goal of a democracy and society made stronger for all because women have equal voice and are equally valued and respected. It will also reaffirm the important message that women’s equality is not and should not be the preserve of any one political party, or indeed gender, but is in fact, as our founder Millicent Fawcett said, “a common cause”.
Do pass the message on and get everyone asking, What about Women?
