Part Time Campaigns Intern – WILPF – 19th March 2010

Salary: Voluntary, expenses to £5 per day
Role: Campaigns and Administration Intern
Location: Old Street
Contract: 3 months
Hours: 10 hours per week / 2 days per week

Women’s International League for Peace and Freedom is looking for an intern to support our campaigning work.

Half of the intern’s time will be spent supporting the administrative needs of the organisation, and the other half will be spent on the ‘Human Security not Military Security’ campaign. This includes collaborating with the membership and campaign team to determine campaign priorities, implementing campaigning activities, coordinating media engagement in collaboration with the communications team, and other tasks as required.

WILPF is an international NGO with National Sections in 35 countries. WILPF has consultative status with the UN to formally lobby the UN and its agencies on issues related to peace, disarmament and economic justice. WILPF was founded in 1915 when 1300 women met to protest against a war in Europe. WILPF is the oldest women’s peace organisation. WILPF continues to campaign for peace, justice, equality and the full enjoyment of human rights for all.
