Take on a new challenge – run 10k for Refuge! – 31st May 2010

Refuge is offering its supporters the opportunity to take up one of our limited number of places to take part in the fantastic BUPA London 10,000 10k race on Bank Holiday Monday 31 May. Whether you run, walk or crawl the course, we would be delighted to have you on our team!

The BUPA London 10,000 10k has a fantastic atmosphere and takes in some of the best views that London has to offer. Beginning in Birdcage Walk, the race passes Westminster Abbey, the Houses of Parliament, Big Ben and the London Eye, and much more besides. What’s more, the route will form part of the 2012 Olympic Marathon course (but will involve much less pain!).

Public places for this run ran out really quickly, but Refuge does have some places for its valued supporters. We will be asking all runners who take up a Refuge place to pledge to raise £300 for our life changing and life saving work, and we will also ask for a non-refundable £20 deposit. Please do get in touch if you would like to discuss this or take part.

At Refuge, our runners are very important to us as the money they raise makes up a vital part of our fundraising activity. We will do everything we can to support you every step of the way. We offer a free Refuge t shirt or professional running vest, a training plan, a full running pack containing training, nutrition and fundraising advice, a free online fundraising page and one-to-one support from our Refuge team.

As a valued supporter of our work, you will know that domestic violence is a serious crime which will kills up to two women every week in England and Wales. By running for Refuge, you will be helping us to save lives and to change lives. Thank you for your support.
