Independent Sexual Violence Advocate
Salary: £31,149 (SP33)
Contract Type: Fixed Term until March 2011
Eaves is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and committed woman to a new role of Independent Sexual Violence Advocate. Working with the Safer Lambeth Partnership, your role will be to provide high level support to victims of sexual violence to assist them in accessing appropriate support and advocating on their behalf with criminal justice processes.
To be successful in this role, you will need to have:
* Substantial knowledge and experience of advocating and supporting victims of sexual violence as well as an understanding of the impact it has on their lives.
* Experience of managing caseloads including needs assessment and risk planning
* Knowledge of the legal responsibilities around child protection
You will also need to have excellent communications skills which will enable you to communicate appropriately and sensitively with women in crisis and affected by traumatic events. Interview date: 8 June 2010.
Eaves offer a generous 30 days’ annual leave (pro rata) and a 5% non-contributory pension scheme. You can expect support through regular supervision and a training and development plan.
Due to the sensitive nature of this role, this post is for a female worker only and is exempt under Section 7 (2) (d) of the Sex Discrimination Act 1975 therefore, we will only be considering female applicants.
