National Peripatetic Domestic Violence Workers – Refuge – 1st June 2010

Refuge, is the country’s largest specialist provider of domestic violence services for women and children escaping domestic violence. We have the following opportunities for high calibre, committed female* applicants:

National Peripatetic Domestic Violence Workers
C. £27,000 pa

This is an exciting new opportunity for experienced support workers. You will deliver a high quality professional service to abused women living in our refuges and those who access our floating support services across all of our national sites. Your role is to support colleagues by filling gaps created in the service by absence and annual leave and will be required to work from any of the above services and at any of our national sites according to the needs of the service.

Your role will entail providing invaluable practical and emotional support to women and their children, such as advocacy, support around welfare, housing and legal entitlements, and supporting women to move on to safe and permanent accommodation.

You will have excellent casework skills, good written and verbal communication skills, clear professional boundaries and be a proactive team player. You must have experience of providing support to women and knowledge of current welfare rights/civil/criminal legislation relating to domestic violence. A recognised social work/counselling or housing qualification would be desirable.

You will be required to work as part of an on-call rota.

Drivers license and access to a vehicle during work hours desirable

An enhanced CRB is will be required for these roles.
