Librarian volunteer – CAWN – 9th July 2010
Central American Women’s Network (CAWN) seeks Librarian volunteer
Time Commitment:
• 1 – 2 days per week, 3 months

The Placement:
• This volunteer position offers an excellent opportunity for someone wanting to gain experience as a librarian within a human rights organisation.
Main Tasks:
We are looking for someone with a library science degree/certificate or experience in organizing a library, to catalogue and organize our bilingual (English and Spanish) small library, approx. 1000 publications in both languages. This would involve working at your own pace over the summer to catalogue several publications and books, as well as to organize these under different subject matters for their easy location.
Our library’s focus is on women’s rights (violence against women and women’s economic rights in particular). For this reason, it would be desirable if you have had specific academic knowledge on this area.
Conditions:
• We are able to offer you travel costs and a lunch stipend up to £10 per day.
