Female Crisis Worker
Salary: £28,772 per annum pro-rata
Contract type: 3 year fixed term
Hours: 28 hours

The POPPY Project provides expert support and advocacy to women who have been trafficked to the UK for the purpose of sexual exploitation and/or domestic slavery. We are seeking to appoint a woman to develop specialist support arrangements for young omen who have been trafficked.

You will provide expert support including a telephone service to young women who have been trafficked into sexual exploitation or domestic slavery. Your role will also involve working with the voluntary and statutory sectors across the UK to enable them to provide better support and assistance to young women who may have been trafficked.

To be successful in this role you will have:
* Substantial experience and understanding of the needs of young women who have experienced sexual violence.
* An understanding of trafficking and how it affects women and the causes and realities of prostitution trafficking
* An understanding of knowledge and awareness of relevant legislation including immigration, asylum and trafficking

Some knowledge of housing and welfare benefits legislation will also be essential as will good literacy and spoken communications skills and the ability to manage own workload.

Female Family Reunification Worker
Salary: £30,352 – £31,936
Contract type: three year fixed term
Hours: 35 hours

We are seeking a woman who is able to provide of a range of pre and post natal support to trafficked women through advocacy, information, and support to new mothers and vulnerable women. In addition, you will help to prepare victims of trafficking for family reunification and support them through the transitional process.

The successful candidate must have:
* Have a recognised social work qualification and substantial post qualifying experience of providing a social work service to children and families
* Substantial experience of providing support to new mothers and vulnerable women to develop good parenting skills
* An understanding of trafficking and prostitution and how it affects women
* Knowledge and awareness of relevant legislation including child protection, immigration and asylum and trafficking

Some knowledge of housing and welfare benefits legislation will also be essential as will good literacy and spoken communications skills and the ability to manage own workload.

Interview Date: 19 July 2010.
