Project Manager Women’s Design Groups – Women’s Design Service – 4th August 2010

Women’s Design Service is a unique charity working to ensure that the design and use of the built environment reflects the needs and aspirations of women. We work with women at grassroots level, transmitting findings to designers and decision-makers through training, consultancy, conferences and publications.

We are currently recruiting for a project, funded by London Councils, that aims to establish Women’s Design Groups in twelve London boroughs in order to increase community engagement and participation in local / regional planning and policy development.

We are seeking a Project Manager committed to these aims to deliver the final twelve months of this exciting three-year project, building upon achievements to date.

The successful applicant will be experienced in community planning, with project management skills, able to relate to and engage with a variety of different audiences. We are seeking someone who can support women to influence the town planning system in London and recruit women for new groups for the remainder of the project. The successful applicant must also be able to liaise successfully with local authority officers to gain commitment to working with, and deliver training to planning departments.

Closing date: 5pm on 4th August 2010
12 month contract (commencing 1st September 2010)
