Employment Caseworker
* Hours: Full Time
* Salary: £24,786 – £26,361 pa (35 hours per week) funded until 31 December 2011.
The Piano Project is a new national project funded by NOM’S/ESF for ex/offenders to support them into education and employment. Your role will involve the provision of information, advice and guidance to women both in prison and in the community, whilst empowering them to access education, training and employment opportunities. You will have experience of supporting vulnerable women into work and of formulating individual action plans with clients regarding employment/education goals. With excellent communication and assessment skills you will have a sound knowledge of the possible impact of imprisonment on women and their ability to access employment.
Through the Gate Worker
* Hours: Full Time
* Salary: £24,786 – £26,361 pa (35 hours per week) funded until 31st March 2011. Subject to further funding
Your role will involve the provision of long-term, casework, advocacy and support to women offenders upon their release into the community. Responsive to the individual needs of women, you will develop individual support plans that address their mental health, housing, domestic violence, substance misuse and financial needs. With extensive experience of supporting vulnerable women with a range of complex needs, you will also have experience of undertaking detailed needs/risk assessments and knowledge of the possible impact of imprisonment on women and their families. An interest of or experience of working with women with mental health needs is desirable.
Project Worker (x2)
* Hours: Full Time
* Salary: £24,786 – £26,361 pa (35 hours per week).
* Contract until March 31st 2011 (subject to further funding).
These roles involve assertive outreach and one-to-one support to women offenders; in prison, at courts and upon release into the community. Responsive to the individual needs of women, you will develop individual support plans addressing their mental health, housing, domestic violence, substance misuse, financial and other identified needs. You will facilitate and develop group support across London enabling women to build self-confidence/ esteem and learn new life skills. With extensive experience of supporting vulnerable women with complex needs, you will have experience of undertaking detailed needs/risk assessments and an NVQ3 in social care (or equivalent).
Young Women’s Worker
* Hours: Full Time
* Salary: £24,786 – £26,361 pa (35 hrs per week)
* Contract until March 31st 2011 subject to further funding.
You will provide targeted assertive outreach, one-to-one support and group-based interventions to women under 25 who have been in contact with the criminal justice system, with a particular focus on gang-related offending. Significant experience working with vulnerable young women will have equipped you with key skills to effectively and creatively engage with this client group. Responsive to complex, changing needs of young women, you will provide intensive advocacy and casework support in prison, in court and the community. You will need to demonstrate effective communication skills and understanding of the impact that contact with the criminal justice system has upon young women and an NVQ3 in social care (or equivalent).
