the nia project has been awarded the tender to provide the East London Rape Crisis Service.
The organisation is now recruiting for the following sessional posts
Sessional Counsellors
£30 per hour/ £150 per day on a freelance basis
The East London Rape Crisis Service will be providing face to face counselling sessions for women who have experienced recent or historic sexual violence. The service will be available to women from the London boroughs of: Redbridge, Hackney, Tower Hamlets, Waltham Forest, Havering, Barking and Dagenham and Newham.
Project aims:
This work will provide therapeutic support for women from the 7 East London boroughs for up to a year who have experienced recent or historic sexual violence. The counselling service aims to provide women with space, safety and support to enable them to heal at their own pace.
We are looking for experienced counsellors to deliver counselling at 2 locations, one in Hackney on Tuesdays and Thursdays and one in Ilford (Loxford) Monday- Saturday. You must be BACP or UKCP accredited with at least three years post-qualifying experience working with survivors of violence. You will be competent in a range of interventions working with trauma.
Sessional Counsellors for the East London Rape Crisis Service must be female. Section 7 (2) e of the Sex Discrimination Act (1979) applies.
Sessional Counsellors must have Professional Indemnity Insurance and ideally a current enhanced Criminal Bureau Records check.
