LAWA, a Women’s Refuge and Advice Centre, offers practical and emotional support, and temporary accommodation, to Latin American women and their children fleeing domestic violence within an empowering framework.

P/T Children Support Worker – 21 h/w
Salary: SP29 – £16.767 including Inner London Weighting.

We are seeking a highly motivated and dynamic woman who has the drive to take this project forward and who has the following skills:
· Experience working with children and an awareness and understanding of domestic violence issues impacting on them
· Ability to relate to clients; form appropriate working relationships with children and mothers offering them adequate support
· The ability to actively involve mothers and their children in service development and delivery in a creative and empowering way
· To assess children’s needs, implement and monitor an action plan in collaboration with the mother
· Employ a range of creative activities to help Children’s Services meet its responsibilities.
· The ability to write/speak fluently Spanish/English
