Research and training assistant – Wish (Liverpool)
Wish is a user-led charity working with women with mental health needs in prisons, secure services and the community. Taking a women-centred approach, we provide independent advocacy, emotional support, practical guidance and information at all stages of a woman’s journey through the Mental Health and Criminal Justice Systems.
We are looking for a volunteer to support our Director of Advocacy and Training based in the North and Midlands office in Liverpool, for 1-2 days/week.
1 Office support
To assist the Director of Advocacy and Training in the running of the office:
* developing office systems
* providing IT support
* filing
* general administration
2 Policy Review and Development
To support the Director of Advocacy and Training in researching/reviewing/developing policies, procedures and guidelines and other organisational structures
3 Training
* to research materials for inclusion in Wish training modules
* to assist in the development of new training
* to assist in reviewing existing training
4 Information
* to keep up to date with information relating to women’s mental health and make this available to the Director of Advocacy and Training
* to keep up to date with information that is relevant to the field of advocacy
Person Specification
Ability to:
* Communicate effectively both orally and in writing
* Operate effectively as part of a small team
* Take full advantage of support/supervision sessions.
* Be self-supporting in terms of administration
Skills in:
* Communication – oral and written
* Inter-personal relationships
* Planning, organisation and administration
* IT
* Policy research
