Administrator and Personal Assistant to the Director – Wish
WISH are looking for a volunteer to support our Director in the London office, preferably for 3 days/week.
The role is to provide support to Wish and the Director in her role as strategic and operational lead of Wish, which includes: strategic and operational planning; internal and external communications systems; supervising and supporting staff; ensuring that women members are fully involved in Wish; internal policy development and implementation; forming strategic partners with other organisations working in the mental health and criminal justice sectors; researching, developing and taking forward campaigns; developing and marketing the services of Wish; fundraising; and monitoring and evaluation.
Key Tasks
1. Researching information relating to fundraising, marketing, campaigns, and prepare written briefs
2. Support the preparation of training, presentations, funding applications and reports
3. Ensure the smooth flow of communication throughout Wish in relation to staff and Trustees
4. Support the development of planning, monitoring and evaluation at all levels of the organisation
5. Organise and co-ordinate meetings and events
6. Ensure that all office and staff systems are kept up to date
7. Ensure the smooth running of the London office to include resources, petty cash, room bookings, meetings
8. Provide administrative support
9. Take responsibility for Health and Safety
Person Specification
Experience
* Providing high level management administrative support
* Co-ordinating meetings / events
* Maintaining office systems including databases
* Collecting information and preparing briefings
Skills in
* Verbal and written communication to a range of stakeholders
* Excellent IT skills, across the board
* Organisation and planning
Ability to:
* Present written information clearly and logically
* Communicate effectively internally with staff, Trustees and Members, and externally to a range of stakeholders
* To use initiative, and think laterally and problem solve
* To adapt to change and respond positively to new challenge
* To prioritise work appropriately and juggle a busy workload
* To work under pressure and to deadlines
Knowledge & awareness of:
* Working in the Third Sector and the issues that face small organisations
* Working with vulnerable groups people, and the issues that face women within secure settings and on moving to the community
* An understanding of Wish as a user led organisation, and the role of campaigning
* The key issues that face women in secure settings and in the community
