Come and celebrate with a wonderful collection of creative women including artists exhibiting paintings and photography, handmade crafts, books, fashion designers, music, poetry, participatory workshops, fabulous food and great entertainment.
Stalls include handmade quilts, couture fashion, hand knitted and hand sewn garments, Fairtrade goods, sculpture from found objects, jewellery from recycled guitar strings, cushions, cards, beautiful bags and hand woven scarves, handmade glass, millinery, antique blankets, rare and traditional teas, vegan food demonstrations and information from women’s campaign groups and services.
Great entertainment will be provided by pop-up poets and the rocking ELECTRIC LANDLADIES with Sarah P/vocals, Laka D/vocals, keyboard, Diane McLoughlin/sax, keyboard, Deirdre Cartwright/guitar, Alison Rayner/bass, Ann Day/drums.
Free Tours of the Women’s Library to see highlights of the collections and the current Hand Made Tales exhibition will take place at 12noon, 1.30pm & 3pm.
The Spitalfields Traders Market is covered by a glass roof and surrounded by busy restaurants and cafes opening out onto the market square producing a lively, sociable environment in which to enjoy the International Women’s Fair.
