Get healthy and reach your goals – access a health champion – PACE

The PACE Health Champs Service provides peer support to lesbian, bi, trans and queer women who want to improve their health, address depression, stress or time management in their lives.

Women can access 3 – 4 free sessions with a peer support worker who will support you setting your own goals and create the changes you want to see in your life! This service is run by LBTQ women for LBTQ women. The service focuses on improving women’s health in relation to smoking, drinking, exercise and nutrition to empower a healthier and happier you!

The Women’s Project – workshop Series March 15th – April 26th 2011

This extremely popular and successful women’s workshop is being run by the Women’s Health Project for a third time.The workshop is a discussion based group for LBTQ women over the age of 25 years. The workshops focus on a different topic each week including relationships, health, community, rights and activism in the LGBT community.

The workshop is held in Camden every Tuesday, 6:30pm – 9:30pm. Social events for workshop participants are also held throughout the workshop series.

Become a Health Champion – Training Dates 2011

The PACE Health Champs team provide peer support to lesbian, bi, trans and queer women who are seeking to improve their health, stress levels, depression and time management. These volunteers support women making their own decisions and setting their own goals to improve their lifestyles. The programme focuses on alcohol, smoking, nutrition and exercise.

Volunteers are required to complete the free Level 2 Award in Understanding Health Improvement certificate, Client Consultation training and requires a six month commitment is required to volunteer in this programme.

The first training session will be held at PACE on March 12th, 13th, 26th and 27th.

Participants need to book a place by the 5th of March.

Sex and Sexuality Workshop Volunteer Facilitators Wanted

The PACE Women’s Health Project will be running their first sex and sexuality workshop for lesbian and bisexual women in London in 2011. We are looking for two women volunteers to facilitate this exciting workshop series to run in May – June 2011.

The workshop will focus on;
1. Sexuality, relationships and the LGBT community
2. Sexual health and safer sex
3. Emotional wellbeing, sex and relationships
4. Accessing health care providers and talking about sexual health with partners

Volunteers will be required to facilitate the four two hour workshop sessions as well as review and finalise the workshop content. The volunteers will work in conjunction with the Women’s Health Project Coordinator to promote the project and finalise organisation for the workshop sessions. PACE will provide volunteers with logistical and supervision support throughout the project.
