FORWARD invites you to ‘The Witches of Gambaga’ film premier 21st March 6.30pm

FORWARD and AFRUCA present the UK premiere of ‘The Witches of Gambaga’ By Yaba Badoe

Winner of Best Documentary: Black International Festival 2010, this 55 minute documentary by Yaba Badoe tackles the taboo subject of witchcraft in Ghana. It portrays the situation of women branded as witches and thus condemned to a life of misery and poverty. ‘The Witches of Gambaga’ is a collaboration between members of the 100-strong community of so-called witches, women’s activists in Ghana and abroad, and feminist researchers united in their passion to bring dignity and improve the lives of women in Africa.
