4 Assistant Support Workers – nia project – 18th April 2011
the nia project provides a wide range of services for women and children who have experienced sexual violence and other forms of gender violence.
The organisation is currently recruiting for the following within our Substance Use Refuge Team:
* 4 x Assistant Support Workers to cover weekend shifts (7 hours) and weekday sleepovers.
* One year fixed term contract
We are looking for 4 committed and enthusiastic people to work within our specialist substance use refuge. You will have specific responsibility for providing support to women with substance use issues who have experienced gender violence. The successful candidates must have experience in this or a similar field. The post is based in Haringey.
The main responsibilities will be:
* the day to day management of the refuge
* health and safety
* responding to emergency situations
* undertaking administrative and practical duties as required.
The requirements for the post will be a commitment to one x 7 (working) hour weekend shift either 8am to 4pm or 2pm till 10pm and a minimum of one sleepover a week 9:30 pm- 8am. Assistant Support Worker’s will have the same shifts every week, for example a Sunday afternoon shift and a Tuesday night.
The shifts will be paid at £11 per hour for the weekend shifts and £29 a night for the sleepover.
