Management Committe Members and Treasurer – Rights of Women – 28th April 2011

Are you passionate about women’s rights? Are you looking for a way to use your skills and experiences to help a women’s organisation?

Rights of Women is seeking
Management Committee Members and a Treasurer
(unpaid – travel expenses reimbursed)

Rights of Women is a leading national women’s organisation committed to ensuring equality and justice for all women. We advise, educate, and empower women by
1) providing women with free, confidential legal advice by specialist women solicitors and barristers;
2) enabling women to understand and benefit from their legal rights through accessible and timely publications and training; and
3) campaigning to ensure that women’s voices are heard and law and policy meets all women’s needs.

We want to recruit up to five new members, including a treasurer, to join our governing body, the Management Committee. We need women who can help direct Rights of Women towards achieving its mission and ensure the organisation is effectively managed. You will need to be able to make a commitment to Rights of Women and devote the necessary time, including an evening meeting every six weeks (in central London) and availability to make decisions and attend events.

Ideally, new committee members will have skills and experience in one or more of the following areas:
* human resources management
* advice giving and/or legal sector
* fundraising, networking and relationship building skills
* experience of charity / voluntary sector regulation at a national, strategic level
* financial management with experience of the charity / voluntary and community sector (please note this is important for those interested in applying for the role of treasurer).

This is a voluntary unpaid commitment; we will reimburse members travel expenses and provide an induction to Rights of Women.

Download an application pack from our website at http://www.rightsofwomen.org.uk. For an informal chat about applying to join the management committee please contact our Director, Emma Scott on emma@row.org.uk or 020 7251 6575.
