FREE seminar and debate on current proposals for the reform of the family justice system – ROW – 14 June 2011

Women’s experience of the family justice system
– addressing domestic violence

When?

2.30-4.45pm, Tuesday 14 June 2011

Where?

National Council for Voluntary Organisations (NCVO), Regent’s Wharf, 8 All Saints Street, London N1 9RL

Why?

On 31 March, 1 March 2011 the Family Justice Review launched its interim report setting out proposals to tackle problems faced by the family justice system and inviting responses to its proposals for reform.

ROW is concerned that the proposals at present miss the opportunity to reform the family justice system in a way that offers better protection and ensures equal access to justice for women who have experienced domestic violence.

This seminar and debate will equip you with an understanding of the main proposals and enable you to respond to the consultation to ensure that the needs of the women that you work with are reflected in the reform of the family justice system. It will also offer the opportunity to discuss the implications of recent proposals on civil legal aid on the family justice system.

Who should attend?

This seminar and debate is open to representatives from voluntary and statutory sector organisations interested in finding out about, and campaigning on, women’s rights within the family justice system. It is open to women and men and will be publicised widely.
