Upcoming training opportunities at the Women’s Resource Centre:
Building relationships with funders and commissioners
– Tuesday 7 June, 9.30am – 4pm
In these increasingly challenging times developing good relationships with funders and commissioners can be crucial to women’s organisations’ success at securing funding. This course will look at practical ways to make contact with funders and commissioners, influence commissioners’ priorities and strategies and present the case for your work effectively.
Individual donors: understanding the basics
– Thursday 16 June, 9.30am – 4pm
The voluntary and community sector receives a huge amount of funding from individual donors, yet very few women’s organisations currently access this flexible and useful income stream. This course will concentrate on the process of developing money from major donors, although many of the concepts are transferable to developing regular donors. It will include identifying and researching those most likely to support you and how to go about engaging donors.
Strategic planning
– Tuesday 28 June, 9.30am – 4pm
Strategic planning is essential for developing sustainable funding. Organisations need to clarify their mission, aims and objectives and plan how to achieve them. A good strategic plan will enable you to work more effectively, assess which sources of income are appropriate for your organisation and ensure that your future priorities are clear. This course looks at how to involve everyone n your organisation in thinking about your future strategy, deciding on the options and writing a useful plan.
