Silent Vigil – Women in Black – every wednesday
Women in Black against War meet every Wednesday evening, from 6 till 7 pm, in a silent vigil on a changing theme opposing militarism and war, challenging the British government on its war policies and ‘defence’ spending, witnessing women’s suffering in war worldwide, and celebrating women’s contributions to peace and justice.
Our vigil, with clear placards and informative leaflets, is held around the Edith Cavell statue, opposite the door of the National Portrait Gallery, St. Martin’s Place, London WC2.
We are a rare example of regular, committed, feminist, on-the-street action against the violence of militarism and war. All women who support this cause are very welcome to join the vigil.
