the nia project provides a wide range of services for women and children who have experienced domestic violence and other forms of gender violence.
The Women’s Services team at the nia project is currently recruiting for the following vacancy:
Senior Support Worker – Emma Project (Ref: 11/02)
Salary – £28,499
Full time (35hrs) until April 2012, after which the post may be reduced to 3 days per week
The Senior Support Worker will have responsibility for the day to day management of the Emma Project, a unique refuge for women who have experienced gender based violence and who use substances problematically.
You will be highly organised, self motivated and able to take responsibility for the effective operation and management of the Emma Project team. You will have a ‘can do’ approach to work and also be enthusiastic about your commitment to the nia project’s feminist approach to supporting women and children who have experienced gender violence.
You will have considerable experience of work within supported housing including working with women who have experienced gender based violence and with people who use substances problematically.
Your responsibilities will include the day to day running and development of the service, staff management, liaising with partner agencies and stakeholders and ensuring the provision of high quality services and administration
