Introducing Jay Merill as our First Writer in Residence! – Women in Publishing – 14th September 2011

Join Women in Publishing at the Savoy Tup function room for the September meeting – the launch of Women in Publishing’s first writer in residence.

Jay Merill is a writer living in London. She has had many short stories published in literary magazines and journals. Her first collection, Astral Bodies, 2007, was published by Salt and was nominated for the Frank O’Connor Award. Her second collection, God of the Pigeons, came out in 2010 and is currently nominated for the Edge Hill Prize.

Jay recently had an Arts Council England award for writing a novel – The Grace of Cheri zi. She is currently engaged in writing a third short story collection, and also hosts live events.

Jay will discuss her experiences and share ideas for writing and getting published. She will read from her work and take questions from the group.
