the nia project provides a wide range of services for women and children who have experienced sexual violence, domestic violence and other forms of gender violence.
East London Rape Crisis Service
the nia project has received funding from the Mayor of London in association with LB Redbridge and 6 other East London Boroughs in order to provide a comprehensive service for survivors of sexual violence. The service will include information, support and referral to survivors, their friends and family, face to face counselling for female survivors and advocacy for female survivors as well as awareness raising of the nature and effects of sexual violence.
We are now recruiting for the following posts:
Post 1 Volunteer Co-ordinator
Salary: £28,499 pro rata
Hours: 28/pt hrs per week
The Volunteer Co-ordinator will supervise, support and develop the ELRC volunteer team. She will also play a key role in the development of the ELRC Referral and Information line for survivors of sexual violence. The Volunteer Co-ordinator will have extensive experience or either volunteer or staff management and knowledge of the impacts of sexual violence.
This post requires evening and weekend work.
Post 2 Independent Sexual Violence Advocate
Salary: £26,928
Hours: 35 F/T
The ELRC ISVA will provide an advocacy service to female survivors, assisting clients with issues such as reporting crimes to the police, supporting through court cases, supporting to access appropriate medical and other services. She will have experience of advocating for women affected by sexual violence and a commitment to a feminist ethos.
Post 3 Counsellors X2
Salary: £26,928 pro rata
Hours: 21/pt hrs per week
The Counsellors will provide one to one counselling and group work for female survivors of sexual violence and will support the Counselling Manager in the development of the service. The Counsellors will have a counselling or psychotherapy qualification and be professionally accredited or working towards accreditation by BACP/UKCP or equivalent.
Sessional Counsellors: Sessional Counsellors will provide one to one counselling and group work for female survivors of sexual violence. They will have a counselling or psychotherapy qualification and be professionally accredited or working towards accreditation by BACP/UKCP or equivalent.
Sessional Counsellors are paid £30 per session. Please apply with your CV.

The Emma Project
The Emma Project is a Haringey Supporting People and London Councils Funded project providing a specialist accommodation based service to women who have experienced problematic substance use and gender violence.
The Emma Project is recruiting for the following post:
Post 4: Support Worker
Salary: £25,301
Hours: 35 F/T
The Support Worker will have key working, housing management and health and safety responsibilities. She will work on a shift work basis including evenings. The successful candidate must have substantial experience of casework and inter-agency practice in this or a similar field.
Independent Domestic Violence Advocate Service
Post 5: Hackney IDVA
Salary: £26,928 pro rata
Hours: 21p/t hrs per week
Fixed term until 31 March 2012
The post holder will provide a service to survivors at high risk of repeated domestic violence in LB Hackney in order to reduce the risk of violence to themselves and their families. This will include working in partnership with local agencies, attending Hackney MARAC and supporting women through the criminal justice system.
