Volunteering at Women and Girls Network – 10th and 12th October 2011
Women & Girls Network (WGN) is a multicultural organisation that provides counselling and therapeutic services for women overcoming experiences of violence, physical, sexual or emotional. We work with all women: lesbian, refugee, black minority ethnic and disabled. Women from these communities are encouraged to apply for paid and volunteer opportunities with WGN.
Honorary Counsellors (Female)
WGN is committed to supporting the development of counsellors who can work appropriately and responsively with women who have experienced gendered violence by providing a comprehensive package of clinical supervision and continuing professional development training opportunities.
If you are in the final year of your counselling diploma and are interested in a placement with Women and Girls Network, we ask that you download the application pack and return three copies of it to us by post before 10th October 2011.
Interviews will take place on Monday 24th and Tuesday 25th October 2011, the purpose of the interview is to ascertain whether or not this is the right organisation for you to be placed with.
Please note if you are successful you will be required to attend 2 days of compulsory Induction Training on Friday 18th and Saturday 19th November 2011.

Telephone Helpline Volunteers (Female)
We seek Telephone Helpline Volunteers who are able to volunteer once a week, for at least a year, on our specialist gendered violence helpline.
In return, you will receive specialised training and experience in supporting women and girls affected by violence.
Interviews will take place on Tuesday 18th and Thursday 20th October 2011.
Please note if you care successful you will be required to attend 2 days of compulsory Induction Training on Friday 18th and Saturday 19th November 2011 and 2 additional days (dates to be confirmed).
