Are you sick of Facebook allowing sites that promote rape culture?
Do you want to do a little more rape culturejamming?
After the huge success of our first jam we have created the next event – due to begin on Monday the 24th of October at 8pm.
… Join us again in picture bombing Facebook pages that endorse, promote or just down right are rape culture. Our first event was for the page ‘You know shes playing hard to get when your chasing her down an alley‘! Perhaps this time we can spread to other pages and try to get as many people on board as possible.
Post your suggestions for pages we can target on our wall, as well as some more fantastic graphics.
Last time was a fantastic, empowering experience… let’s make this time even bigger.
Together we can take back Facebook!
Some Background information…
Despite petitions:
and numerous reports, Facebook is refusing to remove groups on Facebook that are promoting sexual violence and full of hate speech directed against women.
If you are tired of a) men who don’t think the consent of a woman is relevant or interesting and b) are fed up with how long Facebook is taking to remove it for being hate speech then here is something you might like to do:
Between 8pm and 8am on Monday 24th of October we are asking you to choose a photo that expresses the positive importance of consent – we’ve got some on here and please upload your own for others to use. You don’t need to join most pages to post however you won’t be protected from them not contacting you on your account. Though no one has been contacted after our last action, just in case, if you feel unsafe doing this, don’t participate.
It is for this privacy reason that your attendance here will be hidden unless you post on the event’s wall. This event will also be deleted on its completion, though another will be set up in its place and you will be invited to attend.
In the morning their website will be flooded with all the kinds of messages that ignorant men like who would join such a site ought to think about when they voice rape as a joke.
