Changing Career Direction – Women in Publishing – 9th November 2011

Join Women in Publishing for our November meeting – changing career direction.

Our first speaker, Helen Speedy is publishing recruiter for Attwood Tate and will talk about the current job market, including what skills are in demand.

Our second speaker, Anabel Unity spent 13 years as a journalist specialising in social care after graduating with a degree in Communication Studies and Sociology and a Postgraduate Diploma in Photojournalism. Originally a business journalist, her interest was in social affairs and she moved to a social housing trade title before joining a social care magazine and website. In July 2009 she was happily made redundant and took the opportunity to reassess her career. Her passion lay in the not for profit sector and keen to utilise her media expertise, she interned as a press officer for several charities she had developed excellent relationships with as a journalist. In April 2011 she joined Ambitious about Autism as a press and PR officer and has secured coverage on R4?s Women’s Hour and in The Guardian.”

This event is free for members, and £5 for non-members.

All women welcome.
