Period: 3 days a week (For a minimum 3 months)
The Fawcett Society is the UK’s leading campaign for equality between women and men. We trace our roots back to 1866, when Millicent Garrett Fawcett began her lifetime’s work leading the peaceful campaign for women’s votes, and today we remain the most authoritative, independent advocate of women’s rights in the UK.
The main purpose of this role is to help the team build meaningful relationship with Fawcett supporters by providing excellent donor care. You will achieve this by ensuring that all supporters’ gifts are thanked, all data is up to date, by providing administrative support to individual fundraising activities and ensuring donor queries are dealt with quickly and professionally.
This is an ideal starter role for someone wishing to pursue a career in fundraising. It offers the opportunity to develop database and donor care skills, gain knowledge of direct marketing and learn how a fundraising department works. It also provides a valuable opportunity to gain experience in a small campaigning charity.
Responsibilities include:
* Dealing with donor enquiries
* Processing regular gifts and other donations both postal and online
* Dealing with postal and email returns
* Processing merchandise orders
* Updating regular giving transactions history
* Researching potential funders and funding opportunities
* Undertaking other ad hoc duties as directed by the Fundraiser
Key Competencies and Experience:
* Good organisational skills with the ability to prioritise work
* Good spoken and written communication skills in English, with excellent customer service skills
* Experience of working with databases
* Ability to work independently as well as in a team
* Excellent administration skills
Conditions:
* Fawcett internships are volunteer roles. However, we are able to offer interns travel costs within zones 1-6 in London and up to £4.00 a day for lunch.
The closing date is 9am Weds 4th January 2012.
* Interviews will be held during the w/c 9th January at our offices in Berry Street, London.
Start date is expected to be w/c 23rd January.
